The American School of Gas Measurement Technology is pleased to announce Matt Ligon as Board of Directors President for the 2023 school. Mr. Ligon is Managing Partner of Halgon Technologies specializing in providing fluid processing and control technologies in valve and automation solutions. Halgon brings valve, control and measurement application and servicing experience to the solution by contributing their expertise in supporting integrators, fabricators, midstream, distribution, power, petrochemical, and refiners target markets.

Leveraging a 36-year career in flow measurement and controls, Matt has served the industry in a variety of executive roles delivering a full range of solutions. Matt has held key roles with industry leaders such as Emerson, FMC, ABB, Elster Instromet, and most recently as the General Manager of Wika’s US based Flow Division located in Mansfield, Texas.

Throughout his career Matt’s key function has been servicing customers through a Sales and Business Development role. With success comes more responsibility which evolved into managing global sales, distribution, and engineered product offering.

An alumnus of Texas State University in San Marcos, Texas, Matt serves the flow measurement industry by lending his technical expertise through several industry organizations and currently resides as a Board of Directors President for ASGMT.

A husband and proud father of two, Matt’s oldest son graduated from Texas Tech University in Lubbock and has followed his dad into the industry, working for Cheniere Energy in Corpus Christi, TX. His youngest son is a graduate of San Angelo State and is currently serving in the U.S. Armed Forces.

Matt leads an active and varied personal life. He serves in the youth ministry at his church, is an avid runner, and an accomplished golfer.
