The American School of Gas Measurement Technology is pleased to offer a special session entitled Gas Measurement Fundamentals. This curriculum includes 11 lecture classes that would benefit field and plant measurement technicians, as well as operations personnel with measurement responsibilities. This special secession is suitable for all levels of experience. Topical areas to be covered include:

  • Measurement Units and Temperature and Pressure
  • Natural Gas Properties
  • Gas Composition Determination
  • Turbine, Positive, Displacement, and Rotary Flow Meters
  • Orifice Flow Meters
  • Ultra Sonic Flow Meters
  • Coriolis Flow Meters
  • Other Flow Meter Types
  • Verification and Testing
  • Data Capture, Processing, and Retention
  • Measurement Error and Associated Lost and Unaccounted For (LAUF) Gas Volumes

Class Description

Each student will receive a student guide containing all information presented during the training session. Proficiency testing will be offered after the conclusion of the secession. Those passing the proficiency test will receive a certificate of competition. Continuing Education Units may also be obtained for a nominal fee.

The class instructors will be industry experts, each with decades of experience. The group of instructors has also been heavily involved in development and maintenance of the various industry standards that pertain to natural gas measurement and will provide insight on those during the course of the classes.
