General Chairperson
The General Committee Chairperson is the leader and head of the General Committee (GC). The General Committee Chairperson attends, participates in, and presides over all General Committee meetings. He or she is a close working partner with the President of the Board of Directors (BOD), the General Committee Officers, and the GC Subcommittee Chairpersons.
The General Committee Chairperson’s liaison from the BOD is normally the GC Chairperson from the previous year. The GC Chairperson is a member of the BOD and attends and participates in all BOD meetings. The BOD sets the standards by which the GC Chairperson runs the General Committee.
The GC Chairperson must be familiar with the By-Laws of the School. Also, he or she must be familiar with the timetables of each of the GC Officers and each of the GC Subcommittee Chairpersons.

All meetings are conducted using pseudo “Roberts Rules of Order” and should include the following agenda items (as a minimum):

GC Subcommittee Reports (i.e., Arrangements, Exhibits, Program, Publications, Publicity, Registration, and Website)

Meet with the Arrangements Subcommittee Chairperson to finalize meeting dates for the coming year, and with concurrence from the BOD President, identify possible meeting sites. Stay apprised of other industry schools, seminars, conferences, roundtables, and meetings and avoid conflicting with those meeting dates.
